To help you plan your plastic surgery effectively, we’ve provided some information below on what effect the seasons might have on your decision.
Winter – December through March
According to Robert Tornambe, M.D., this is an ideal time to undergo any kind of plastic surgery. Breast augmentation, facelifts, liposuction, you name it and this is a great time of year to have it done. Tornambe says that the cooler weather allows for bulkier clothing, which may help conceal swelling and bruising. In addition, the weather requires hats and scarves, which may help conceal the appearance of a facelift or a nose job.
Spring – April through June
Spring is one of the busiest seasons for plastic surgery, as people are willing to do more in order to prep for summer. For some people, spring is the best time to have surgery performed, as it allows more time to work off holiday weight. Some of the most recommended surgeries for this time of year include breast augmentation, body contouring, and facelifts.
Summer – July through August
Summer is a beautiful season that should be enjoyed to the fullest. And it’s a season where plastic surgery is not recommended, except minor procedures like Botox. A breast augmentation surgery may only take two to three hours to complete, but the healing process is pretty long and requires you to stay indoors and away from all that summer fun.
Fall – September through November
This season holds many of the same advantages that winter does for plastic surgery procedures. In addition, spring and summer exercise will probably put you at an ideal place for body contouring surgery at this time of year.
Planning your surgeries by season might seem a little bit strange, but the advantages are clear when you stop to think about it. Don’t forget to consult with your surgeon before you plan any procedures though.
