Another popular choice is a sports bra. Many women actually opt for this over a front-clasp after surgery. It provides the wearer with the desired amount of support and compression. If you decide to go down this route, make sure you find a bra that is made of breathable fabric and doesn’t have any underwire. Speak with your doctor to see if this is the best option for you. Your doctor may even decide to switch you from another bra to this one after you’ve been in recovery for a few weeks. Breast reduction surgery usually takes about two or three hours, so make sure whoever is at the procedure with you has your post-op bra on hand following that time.
Mastectomy Bras
If you have a mastectomy, you’re going to want a bra specifically for that surgery. These types of bras feature pockets that can hold the forms or prosthesis in place. Many women choose to use this type of bra well after surgery since they’re perfect for healing.
